About Butterfly Gourmet
Brought up in a culture where food was love and Sunday dinners went on ALL day, Debra grew up on the south shore of Long Island. She studied Communications Arts in NYC and worked as an on-air reporter. Eventually, she put her communications skills to work for animals (one of her great passions) securing a job at the largest animal rescue and no-kill shelter in the world, North Shore Animal League America. The owner (like the monarch butterfly used in her logo) migrated to a warmer climate. She moved her daughters and a menagerie of dogs, cats and equine from NY to VA opening a shop reflecting her other great passion – food and entertaining – and Butterfly Gourmet was born where entertaining, cooking and all things interesting and yummy are the theme!
